Never heard of movie theater butter. So, that must mean that they're using popcorn with the butter FLAVOR already PROCESSED into it.

By the way, I think it's cute that you think the real thing is "gross". My real butter's been screwing up my popcorn ever since I can remember, but boy, do I love the way it tastes! Yum!

Which brings me to speculate at how we must be getting used to all the fake food that's out there if someone can find real butter gross. I'm not picking on you; I just can't believe at how much society has accepted when it comes to food and down-home cooking. Hardly anyone cooks from scratch anymore and personally I find that sad.

You need clarified butter.

Heat the butter in a pan, until it just melts. Do not overheat or it will burn or develop an off taste.

Pour the melted butter into a tall glass or measuring cup and let the solids settle to the bottom.

The "clear oil" butter on top is what you want.

The whitish "milky" looking stuff on the bottom is to be tossed in the trash. It's this milky stuff that sogs out the popcorn.

Enjoy : )

At the moment, compact fluorescent lamps are an excellent choice from many standpoints. They have better color quality, equal luminous/energy efficiency, and much better cost per hour than LED retrofit lamps. LED lamps for retrofit use are just getting started. The decent ones run $ 40 a piece to give you the light output of an average 60W incandescent light bulb. A good compact fluorescent costs between $ 2 and $ 5. As of today, there isn't a better choice than the fluorescent. The only exception would be where you have an fixture that's very difficult to reach. LED lamps last longer than compact fluorescents, so if it's very difficult to change the lamp you might consider the LED.

Better for what purpose, and under what conditions? Incandescent is better for intermittent use and under harsh conditions. You're probably thinking of an LED, which can be more efficient than fluorescent. About the best is low pressure sodium vapor, used for street lighting and parking lots, if you can tolerate monochromatic light.

"Better" is a relative term. Better than what?

Fluorescent is "better" than incandescent in terms of energy use, but they (or any lights that flicker) are not very good for reading. They cause headache in some people.
An LED bulb is "better" than incandescent and fluorescent in terms of energy use and shock resistance. They also last a lot longer than any other common type of light.
Sodium or mercury vapor lamps are "better" than any of those for lighting up a stadium.

If you are going to ask which is better, you need to tell the person you are asking what you intend to do with the light.

LED light bulbs. They use less power than fluorescents and last into the tens of thousands of hours(some as long as 50,000 hours). They are considerably more expensive, up front, than fluorescent bulbs. But the savings are worth it in the long run.
